First off, lets get down to some of the basics. To book an appointment requires you to set up your contact information (please include your phone number and email address) on our secure website and book and pay for your Initial Assessment session. Once you are booked I will be setting you up in the MyTPI app. You will get an email on downloading the app and setting up your account. In preparation of your session, please clean your clubs (we will be hitting more than just one), bring clean indoor shoes and wear comfortable clothing. There isn't a very large waiting area or parking so please arrive just 5 minutes before your appointment. There is no need on your first session with us to do a warm-up prior as the TPI movement screen should be done "cold". When you arrive at 91 Grandview Beach (91 Lakeshore Drive on google maps), please park in the driveway and come around to the back of the garage where your enter the golf studio.
The session begins with introductions and we discuss the current state of your game, your goals and if you have had any prior injuries or experience pain from your golf swing. We will then begin the TPI Movement screen. The TPI movement screen is a simple test to quickly evaluate a player’s physical capabilities. The results of that assessment are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a unique mobility plan for that golfer.

We then move on to assess your swing characteristics. We do a quick overview of your club set-up and get the swing weight and weight of your 7 iron. The client then does their warm-up and we begin hitting your 7 iron. After about 5 to 10 shots, we will start the video and launch monitor data analysis. We will then complete the TPI body-swing connection by relating your body limitations to your swing characteristics. The TPI Philosophy is: There are an infinite number of ways to swing a golf club. However, there is one most-efficient way for each player to swing a club and it is based on what they can physically do. We also believe there is a pain free golf swing for you. No more sore backs or elbows! Note: If you are a beginner, we immediately start teaching you the basics of the golf swing
We then move on to the skills assessment where we test the following:
Approach Play - hit your 7 iron to your normal distance 5x. What is your greens in regulation? Do you have a persistent miss?
Hybrids/Fairway woods - Hit one or the other to your normal distance 5x. What is your greens in regulation? Do you have a persistent miss?
Driver: Hit your driver on our FSX Play driving range 5x. How many times can you stay on the grid (<30 yds from the center) and within 10% of your best driver distance.
Wedge Game - hit your wedge 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 yards. How often do you hit the green. Do you have a persistent miss?
Short Game - hit your chipping club 15 yards on to the FSX Play green 5x. Can you get within 12' of the flag?
Putting - we have ladder game drill set up in our golf studio. Can you complete the ladder which is 13.5' from the hole without missing a putt 3x?
The one hour session is pretty much over at this point. We will give you a quick discussion of your assessment and where we can help . A written development plan will be emailed to you in the following couple of days and may include fitness training, physical therapy and treatment recommendation, coaching of swing mechanics, golf club recommendations, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above. We will also recommend a package for you that will compliment your goals.
Golf is 4 Life: Lets enjoy it along the way!
